Glasgow three-piece Baby Strange have announced the release of their new single ‘Pleasure City’ through Ignition Records on November 6th, 2015. The single will also be available to stream and download from October 2nd. The release follows on from previous single ‘California Sun’, which received radio support from Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio X and Beats 1. NME called ‘California Sun’ “a big, hook-laden anthem to waltz your beau round the indie disco”.
‘Pleasure City’ is a raucous three minutes of fast-paced fuzzed-up punk rock. Brooding with rebellious attitude, this is yet another anthemic track from Baby Strange. “‘Pleasure City’ is about someone's attempt to escape the banality of daily life” says frontman Johnny Madden. “It's selfish, self-indulgent and self-destructive. It comes from a conflicted place in the mind that I'm sure others can relate to."
Since emerging with the brilliantly dark ‘Pure Evil’ in 2013, Baby Strange have toured with the likes of Palma Violets, The Vaccines and Iceage, as well as playing packed out festival shows at Reading and Leeds, Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow and Brighton’s Great Escape Festival. In recent months Baby Strange have completed a raucous UK tour with Slaves and played a rammed headline show at London’s The Old Blue Last. Baby Strange will be playing a nine-date headline UK tour in October, as well as a performance at Underground Festival.
